WHY ME?

I have worked in the healthcare industry for over fifteen years. The interests of my clients and patients are always my first priority, and I go above and beyond to make sure they get the results they need.

Whether you’re about to start a new case, need advice on a particular medical issue, or would like a timely tip on matters big or small - I’m your go-to source.

Three questions I always get from attorneys

1. How can you—as a legal nurse consultant—improve my legal practice?

I could take the burden from the paralegal in reviewing cases and preparing medical chronologies from the records or charts. I'm efficient and thorough. Because I know medical procedures, I do not have to spend time looking up medical terminology and deciphering terms. I have a broad base of medical background and training that can bring superior expertise to any attorney's case. This allows freeing up the attorney's staff to concentrate on other issues at hand.

Not only can I decipher what is in the chart, but I can also do something that most paralegals cannot: I can tell the law firm what isn't there. With my familiarity with medical procedures, charts, diagnoses, and the multitude of other information that goes into a patient's chart, I can easily and quickly tell when something that should be there is missing. This can help the attorney with his or her discovery requests and also help pinpoint potential weaknesses in the case.

2. What do you know about the legal field?

I have worked with attorneys throughout my medical career on various topics. I participated in a six-week legal course on the basic principles of the American legal system. The two most important contributions my expertise will offer is meaningful and immediate.

3. How much do you charge?

My background, education, skills, training, personal contacts in the medical community, and general knowledge of medical procedures are valuable information. I charge depending on the case and service. The attorney and I will negotiate a rate that suits us both.
